Swim Lesson Registration Information

Learn-to-Swim Sessions

Consist of 9 half-hour classes held over two weeks. Class size is usually three to four children. These classes are appropriate for children aged 2 or older. It is also appropriate for those children who are beginners or working on more advanced skills. I do not have swim “levels”. I will work with each student, helping them improve their ability and confidence. Your child will be taught to swim in one 9-day session.

Stroke Sessions

Also follow the same format of 9 half-hour classes held over two weeks. However, because these classes require more stamina, they are designed for swimmers aged 4+ who are already comfortable swimmers. This is a great tune-up for summer swim team or junior lifeguards! Swimmers will be taught the competitive swim strokes (freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke). Each swimmer will progress through the strokes at their own speed.

Pool Requirements

Lessons may only be held in private, backyard pools that maintain a temperature of 90 degrees. (Rules are slightly different for stroke groups, but the pool temperature is crucial to maximizing the progress of younger swimmers.) Pools must be large enough that a child has to take 3-4 strokes to swim across the shorter direction and have a deck edge that children can hold onto on at least one side.

Payment is required the first Wednesday of the lessons.  The fee for a two-week session is $425 per child.
